I am very conscious of the value of these guitarists who were and who are like a backbone in the history of guitars and I know that each one of them had a different impact on each one of us, so, starting from here we say "Slash, or Jimi or Brian May or ect. is the best guitarist of all this goddamn world". Because each one had an impact on us. So, Slash is for me the best guitarist and he will never be equalized, in my view that's true, we can't say who's better because we're not rn'r judges or something |

no, it's not actually about that. As here is about music, we can't help but being subjective. Art is not something to be judged. But what I was saying is that we all know the value of these huge guitarist but they didn't all have the same impact on us. When you listen to some great and talented guitarist and you follow him since you were a child, you keep pretty stuck to him. So he is the one you hail to say it so. This happens with a band, with a singer, ect. For example for me there's no greater voice in hard rock than Axl's. No matter if I love many other bands(I won't discuss about voices of doom metal for example as they are totally another genre. For example Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride is the god of doom metal for me), Axl was that one who had that huge impact on me since little and I say this no matter who will blame me. ah, ok that's why i said that. we can't judge musicians as musicians even if we're musicians. i mean, we can't say 'this guy plays well' 'this guy doesn't' because we don't know exactly if the musician plays well. in fact, we can study for years, we can learn a lot of this about art itself, music, we can learn to play 5 instruments but we don't own the truth. so the impact thing you refer to is the best reason you can give in such cases.

yes, indeed. Well, of course there are good or bad guitarists, but that's another thing, here we talk about legends. So indeed, you can't cuantify the talent of a person. You can say if you appreciate it or not or if it had a bigger impact on you than others, but in the end the ones that reached to be now legends in music are all great musicians that make us proud.
