-Steven, you look happy… Is the road the best place to stay?
-There is no place like the road. Either you are built for it, or you are not built for it.
-Is it hard to be at home for a rock star?
-I’m good for a good ten days. That’s it. I wish I could take my dogs and my wife on the road with me.
-And how many dogs do you have?
-I have three dogs. Two Chihuahuas and a Chinese pug. And an argentinean wife!
-Adler´s Appetite it´s an all star band, with great musicians. But, is this band a family too?
-Playing music together for 90 minutes on stage is living with each other for 24 hours a day, day after day, week after week. They are making me crazy, I can’t take this thing anymore!!! (jajaja) Thank god and grandma I was built for this. It’s very important to be able to get along and enjoy each others company cause we are so close together. We’ve been doing this for eight years and it takes a while to get to this level. Now we want to get to the next level. And now we are stronger, and more mentally capable and mentally strong enough to be able to get on to the next level, because every day you prove yourself. You are only as good as your last show…
-You have edited an E.P. for this european tour, and we know that your record it´s near…
-Our intention is to make a great rock n´ roll record. But these days, with internet, people want stuff immediately. So we work in studios with two different producers. With different sounds, we find a sense of balance with the music that we have and the sounds. We are making a great produced record. We’ll be powerful and we still test the time. So we have Fred Coury, from Cinderella, who produced two songs, and Anthony Fox, who has worked with Aerosmith and Buckcherry. I was just making the decision of what we are doing next with the next five, six, or seven songs. Hopefully, by the end of the year, we´ll have a whole album to pull out with videos as well. My book “My Appetite For Destruction” is out and it’s coming into paperback in July, so we’ll try to time the album and the book coming out on paperback in one.
-And what do you feel playing “Appetite For Destruction” every night?
-It´s great because that record was a dream and an accomplishment come true for all five of us (Slash, Axl, Duff, Izzy, and myself). That’s what we wanted to do. We went in the rehearsal studio with an idea and a dream, and all hearts and minds and souls aimed at the same goal, and we achieved that goal. It was wonderful, I loved it. Not just everybody else loved it, but I loved it. And that’s really cool. Lot of people makes records and they don’t like their records. I like my records.
-I know this question it´s not new for you… Is it possible a reunion of the original members of Guns N´ Roses?
-It’s up to the two gods: Axl and Slash. I missed out twenty years of my life, my playing life, my career life, my musical life, and I’m making up in a short time. And I’m getting all the help, and I have great people with me.
-Do you have any contact with Axl, Slash and the others?
-Axl is difficult, Izzy is difficult. With Slash and Duff we text each other. It’s all about texting. It’s so much faster to just say: “Hi, how are you?” But that’s all we do, and I’m glad we do that.
-What do you think about today´s line-up of Guns N´ Roses?
-I wish them the best.
-Slash said in his autobiography that he started to play guitar after he saw you playing one, when you were teenagers. We could say that you created a genius…
-I´m very proud of that. I was blessed to be able to grow up and work with such a high calibre of players like Axl, Slash, Duff and Izzy. They are the Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Freddy Mercury, John Paul Jones of my generation and I had to work with them.
-I always say Steven Adler is the best drummer in the history of Guns N´ Roses… What do you think about it?
-I agree with yo
