From the Song with Ozzy Some say it talks about a certain Rose Crucify The Dead (feat. Ozzy)
The fire started long ago The flames burned out, still embers glow So charred and black There's nothing left to burn, to burn
We had the same dream Lived life to extreme A loaded gun jammed by a rose
The thorns are not around your head Your ego cursed you till you bled You cannot crucify the dead To me you're dead, yeah
The future is unset in stone Decisions past leave you alone Betrayed us all with your own selfish greed, your greed, yeah
New soldiers now say That your beggars collect Re-crucified and paid by you
The thorns are not around your head Your ego cursed you till you bled You cannot crucify the dead To me you're dead, yeah
We were like brothers with the world in our hands You always have too much to say Someday you look back and you wonder why You let it all slip away, yeah
SOLO
Crucify the dead Crucify the dead
The thorns are not around your head Your ego cursed you till you bled You cannot crucify the dead To me you're dead, yeah

I can't fully understand the lyrics because of the English skills but it seems like he still think Axl is the one who ruin the old band. Am I right? Especially on this part : "A loaded gun jammed by a rose"

Hey, I came late to the party! so, I'm at work right now and can't hear them... Are they any good? I'm scared of listening to them after that Paradise City thing with Fergie and what's his face. Oh yeah, and then we had the grammys. But I'll give it a listen when I get home and try to not to let those things (and some others) influence my opinion.

Slash Denies Slamming Axl On New Album - A Top Story This WeekSlash Denies Slamming Axl On New Album was a top story for this week. Here it is again: (Rock Radio) Slash has denied suggestions that a line in a song from his solo album refers to his former Guns N' Roses bandmate Axl Rose. And he admits that, 14 years after their relationship broke down, Rose's difficult character is what makes him a "phenomenal" talent. On the track Crucify the Dead, guest vocalist Ozzy Osbourne sings: "A loaded gun jammed by a rose, the thorns are not around your head, your ego cut you till you bled." But Slash says the words were written by Osbourne and do not refer to Rose."It was an Ozzy thing. He said the song represents the situation he's had in his relationships with other musicians," The axe hero tells the Toronto Sun. "Yes, there were some key lines in there that were very suggestive of my own experience – but he said, 'No, this is just an overall picture of the issues'." - more on this story www.antimusic.com/news/10/april/re06Slash_Denies_Slamming_Axl_On_New_Album.shtml

Does he think we're stupid?! If Ozzy wrote that and Slash didn't believed in that words he'd had said no thanks to Ozzy. "A loaded gun jammed by a rose, the thorns are not around your head, your ego cut you till you bled," what he should have wrote to be more clear than this? Axl you're an asshole? But maybe Slash would say that that Axl is "Axel Foley" from "beberly hills cop!"

So far I only listened to Crucify The Dead. The lyrics of this song are a bit idealess, simple, nearly a bit laughable, imo. I understand nothing of it but this is my opinion. The song itself clearly aims at doing speculations or attracting attention. It works as this song gets the most publicity although it's not an extraordinary good song.

OK, I listened to like, half of it. I was REALLY diggin' Beautiful Dangerous but then the chorus just fucked the song up. I liked Promise too. Crucify the dead is crap, IMO. The rest is OK... I'm gonna listen to the rest.
