Duff McKagan Relives the Guns n' Roses on FOX 9 'It's So Easy and Other Lies' author in Mplsby Leif Knutson / FOX 9 News It started from nothing in Los Angeles around 1985, and over the years Guns N' Roses has sold more than 100 million records, toured the world and picked up more than a few stories along the way -- not all suitable for re-telling on our show. One man who was there from the start has chronicled that experience, along with others in his new book "It's So Easy and Other Lies." The lanky bassist with a lust for decadence co-founded GN’R and later, the multi platinum band Velvet Revolver. He is in FOX 9 studios to talk about some of those experiences and his life since hanging out with Axl, Izzy and Slash. Ladies and gentlemen….Duff McKagan! video available here---) www.myfoxtwincities.com/dpp/morning_news/Duff-McKagan-Guns-N-Roses--FOX-9-oct-16-2011

Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan talks to WalesOnlineFormer Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan talks to WalesOnline’s Nathan Bevan about his music career, addiction to drink and drugs and writing his new book called It’s So Easy (and Other Lies).Audio link: www.walesonline.co.uk/news/need-to-read/2011/10/26/audio-guns-n-roses-bassist-duff-mckagan-talks-to-walesonline-91466-29666016/(small fragment of the interview) Wales Online: What is your personal relationship now with Axl? Duff McKagan: Axl's not one of the guys that calls you up and goes, you wanna go do something...ya know. It's a different relationship, but it's fine. He's the singer, he's way more the focal point than anyone else, so his experience through this thing is different than mine, and I realized writing this book. You know, he was a good friend at times, and he really came through to me at times when I needed it. You know, maybe he's not the all the time friend, but when it mattered at some very important points in my life -- he was there. So that's more important than what anybody thinks of him for being late to a concert, or ya know whatever, wearing a raincoat, who cares. You know for me I don't care.

DUFF MCKAGAN's 'It's So Easy' Book To Be Released In Paperback Duff McKagan's (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES, DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED) has announced via Twitter that his book, "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)", will be released in paperback on March 20. "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)" landed at position No. 17 on the New York Times "Hardcover Nonfiction" best sellers list. The book arrived on October 4, 2011 via Touchstone Books (formerly Touchstone Fireside), a division of Simon & Schuster. The first 80 pages of "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)" can be read at this location. In this raw, utterly candid memoir, McKagan, the rock legend and founding member of rock supergroups GUNS N’ ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER, shares his story of excess, angst, struggle and triumph. "It's So Easy" details Duff's rise to the pinnacle of fame and fortune, his struggles with alcoholism and drug addiction, his personal crash and burn, his phoenix-like transformation via a unique path to sobriety, and his success as a savvy business investor and loving husband and father. In a voice that is as honest as it is indelibly his own, Duff — one of rock's smartest and most articulate personalities — takes readers on his harrowing journey through the dark heart of one of the most notorious bands in rock-and-roll history and out the other side. Duff's VELVET REVOLVER/GUNS N' ROSES bandmate Slash has published his own book, as has ex-GUNS drummer Steven Adler, who released his life story, "My Appetite For Destruction: Sex And Drugs And Guns N' Roses", in July 2010. Tred of the Albany, New York radio station 99.5 The River conducted an interview with McKagan about "It's So Easy (And Other Lies)".
