I am sad to hear that, and I say this as he is a too good guitarist, agreat one. And yes, solo guitarists are in most of the cases forgotten. Only a singer can go solo and if his/her voice is very good he/she can go on very high. I don't know why Slash wants to go solo

Well, guitarists that , for me, are the best guitarists, doesnt really care if the carrer has success or not, i mean, bumblefoot isnt really known in the world because of his solo carreer, but he still play solo, same for bucket. And some guitarists like Satriani, Vai, Petrucci have had a very succesfull career.

yes, but they weren't part of such a huge band as Guns N' Roses. Slash alone by himself will never ever have the status he had with Guns. He didn't have it with VR, nor with Slash's Snakepit or anything. This is the truth, he can't do it alone, although if this is what he wants as far as I see. Slash is an amazing guitarist; I've always said that, but he was part of Guns N' Roses. Guns N' Roses made that Slash. The chemistry that the band created, the image and the style, all those together were reflecting on Slash too. He alone is not the same. He might be an amazing guitarist with or without GN'R, but everyone will always relate on Slash as (former) guitarist of Guns N' Roses. When you are part of the biggest hard rock band of all times and you go solo, nothing is the same anymore
